La Union 2019

Gosh! It’s been a while since I last posted. I’ve been busy with all the work and I just want to share a piece of my summer!

Welcome to Thunderbird!

After a 6hr (with traffic) drive from Manila we were welcomed by their courteous staff and THIS ceiling accent.

I was so ecstatic when my tito told me to clear my schedule and we’ll be going north to celebrate his 40th birthday. Apart from having time to relax and refocus, I had the chance to shoot some of my OOTDs (Thanks to my ever supporting sister and husband).

All of the clothes I brought are from F21.

On our 2nd day we had lunch at Halo halo de Iloko in San Fernando, La Union. Known for their halo halo, we brave the scorching heat to try it.

My trip wouldn’t be complete without visiting the beach.

Pico de Loro (One More Time)

We first visited this paradise last August 2017 to celebrate our (me and my hubby) 1st wedding anniversary.

The month of June marks the beginning of the rainy season in the Philippines, but when we got there the place was jam packed! Nevertheless, the tranquil vibe and the smell of the ocean will always leave you breathless.

Look at this amazing view!

Good thing about Pico; Country Club!

During our stay, it rained briefly but we were able to enjoy these facilities. You can go bowling for a priced sum per game.

The view from Pico’s St. Therese of the Child Jesus Chapel. Majestic!

During our last day of our stay we stayed a little bit longer to witness the setting of the sun. I love how we can get away and escape from our daily busy lives and enjoy this moment, this place, this scene without travelling long hours.

Pico will always be one of the happiest place for us.

Breathe in. Breathe out.

“Dance with the waves, move with the sea. Let the rhythm of the water set your soul free.” – Christy Ann Martine

There’s something about the sea that makes me feel so hopeful about life. The sound of waves breaking gently on the shore makes me so relieved and in peace. It felt like the sea catches all my worries and fears so I can be positive about life again.

This is La Carla at Pagkilatan, Batangas City. A 45min drive from the city and just perfect if you want to enjoy the true natural beauty of the beach. The ambiance is nothing but cozy, as a matter of fact you can hear the birds chirping as the waves crashes on the seashore. The wind breeze was nice too.

Cherry on top; I got to enjoy this moment with my loving husband

Keep ’em playing!

I grew up listening to records, from Frank Sinatra, Beastie Boys, The Cure to Phil Collins. My dad had a wide collection of vintage vinyl records which I got the chance to enjoy. That was the time when I learned about the art of analog music. The soft cracks when the record is playing brings more depth and personality to each song.

When I saw an ad about portable turntables, I was so ecstatic! I researched on where to find them. A friend suggested this cafe that sells them and other vintage stuffs; SATCHMI. (Next time, I’m gonna take pictures of the cafe!)

But first, say hello to my MOTORINO MK 3!

Motorino MK 3 in Black

Portable, bluetooth ready, rechargeable and has built in speakers. I love the Idea of it looking like a briefcase.

At Satchmi, they also sell vinyl records. They have brand new ones, and pre owned. The records are sorted based on the genre. I dug like a mad man on the stands for almost an hour! So here’s what I got;

From the alternative stand at Satchmi

Very impressive! They have a vast selection of different artists and genre. Starting from the 30s up to date!

One of the best part is this Paramore collection

It is true that change is inevitable. Just like when laser disks dethroned the turntables. But the good thing is, (yes, they might be old, they might be out of the trend, but) this restoration of a vintage machine only goes to show that they are not forgotten and they will always be part of the history of muic. ❤

What Color?

Moonstone or Amethyst?

Last week I had my hair bleached for the fifth time. I want to achieve platinum, but I guess my hair’s just as stubborn as I am. Some part was near platinum but most of them was light yellow. I thought of having it bleached again after a day, but I noticed some hair falling and breaking so I decided to just color it as it is.

I’ve been in love with coloring my hair since I was high school.  Of course I opted for neutral shades like light brown and ash blonde so that It wouldn’t be that loud. After high school I experimented with bold colors like fiery red and hot pink. I always loved coloring my hair since it was the only thing I can do to give my hair its own personality. (I had deep frustrations of not able to do emo bangs because of my curly hair)

Here’s an illustration of me made by my former FIP classmate, Dolly

I ordered two hair dyes because I’m fickle minded; Moonstone and Amethyst. I literally had to let 2 effin days pass after the orders came because I was not decided which one to use first. I even made a poll in my ig story to let people vote. 80% voted for amethyst, but I hate to break it to you folks, I AM STUBBORN.

So last night, around 10:30 PM, I made a decision. I called my personal hairstylist –charot- (My husband) and he colored my hair blue.

“Everything is blue
His pills, his hands, his jeans
And now I’m covered in the colors
Pulled apart at the seams” (Colors-Halsey)

BUT, be sure to bleach your hair evenly and as much as possible when coloring blue tones, bleach your hair until it’s platinum blonde, because yellow + blue = GREEN! (Yep, I have some blue green hair)

When I woke up I had the perfect dress and shoes in mind to complement my new hair color.

A black dress…

and neon pink Vans.

Splash of colors!

Perfect example of Sugar and Spice 😉

That’s it folks!

Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines.

No matter how you love your work, there will be days when you want to breathe outside your workspace and enjoy a different vibe and atmosphere; a 6hour trip to the beach perhaps? 🙂

These past few days, I had difficulty processing the things I need to do. I was constantly forcing myself to sleep so I can rest my mind.

So yesterday; November 15, 2017 we decided to take a short break. Luckily there’s a 1-hour drive beach from the city.

Look at this amazing view.

Of course I had to drag my husband to take a photo of me. 😀

The sea foams, the sound of waves splashing, the wind making beautiful sounds, the beautiful sea glistening under the sun. Ahhh! LIFE! I’m glad I had the chance to recharge.

Insert cliche caption. LOL. 😀

Ending this post with something I was so conscious about. But hell yeah! F*ck society’s definition of beautiful. ❤

As I sat here, drinking my overrated frappe and writing this piece, I thought of the 90s; music, fashion, culture. Being born in the 90s, I had a pretty share of fan-girling over boybands and Britney Spears. But most of you don’t know, I was also in love with 90s alternative. I can vividly remember how my mom teased me of having a crush on Bon Jovi, how at age 7 I already memorized the lyrics of Semi-Charmed Life, and my ultimate dream was to be Alanis Morisette (Yep).

So yesterday, I had this “grunge feels”. I dressed up thinking about the early 90s alternative when it was having it’s transition from 80s punk rock (Think Simple Minds).

rocker chic wannabe -_-

My cousin gave me this classic Doc Martens for my wedding last year.

I was so in love with the packaging at first, when I tried to swatch the “Lead Zeppelin”, I was blown away ❤

My favorite liquid lippie as of today is Happy Skin’s Glam Up by Sarte.

How do I look in green again?

After almost 4 years of indefinite leave from the blogosphere, I’m back!

I can’t contain my excitement as I share with all of you some tidbits of my life, the experiences, foods, places and some OOTDs.
